Get a charge at no charge at Hotel Murano.
Parent group Provenance Hotels has announced that some of its properties, including Hotel Murano, will offer Tesla high-power connectors and a standard electric vehicle charger for guests and the public at no charge beyond standard parking fees.
This may be of particular interest to hotel guests as well as the 804 residents of Pierce County who own plug-in electric vehicles.
According to Ryan Dicks, Pierce County Sustainability Manager, those 804 residents operate 498 battery electric vehicles, such as the Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model S, and 306 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, such as the Chevy Volt.
The numbers continue to grow, Dicks reported. The 804 vehicles registered in the summer of 2014 represent a 96.6 percent increase over the past year.
And for those of you keeping count, the Pierce County ZIP code with the highest number of such vehicles, 40, is 98335, followed by 98391, with 31.
Provenance Hotels also has inked a deal to benefit Zipcar members. Those who belong to the car-sharing network will be eligible for $50 in driving credit after signing up for Zipcar’s Occasional Driving Plan or a monthly plan.
Hotel guests who are already Zipcar members are eligible for $15 in free driving.
