Charlie Davis has been named permanent president and CEO of the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties.
Davis has served the two-county agency in various capacities for the past 33 years, according to a release.
“We (the YMCA board) have the utmost confidence in Charlie's vision and leadership, and his ability to renew and progress the promise our association has made to strengthen our community,” said Jim Carmichael, YMCA board chair.
Davis has served as interim president and CEO since former CEO Bob Ecklund retired in February. Davis has served as a chief operations officer and as executive director of several branches. He started his career with the YMCA in 1983 at Tacoma Center YMCA.
“As this news settles in for me, I immediately reflect on the many people who came before me, who dedicated their lives to make this community great. I’m reminded that no one person can do that alone,” Davis stated.
