Graham man’s home really is his castle

A retired firefighter has put his home, modeled after a Bavarian castle, on the real estate market because a back injury has made it too difficult to climb the stairs to the towers and parapets. He took eight years building the castle near Lake Kapowsin on 20 acres of land. The sale includes four suits of armor.

Lakewood to landlords: Rental-unit inspections coming

The Lakewood City Council approved a controversial rental housing safety program that would require landlords in the city to open their units up to regular inspections. The goal is to reduce substandard housing in the city, but many landlords have chided the city for letting “a few bad apples” color the city’s view of its rental housing stock.

Ron Denning's home really is a castle. And it even comes with heating and indoor plumbing. The "Denning Castle of Kapowsin Highlands" has 1,700 square feet of living space and is located on 20 acres in Graham. It was designed to resemble the Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria, Germany.
