A man suspected of shooting another man to death this summer before fleeing to Nevada pleaded not guilty Friday in Pierce County Superior Court.
Antwane Goolsby, 32, was ordered jailed in lieu of $2 million bail.
Prosecutors have charged Goolsby with one count each of first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm in the Aug. 5 death of James Smith Jr., 37. Authorities believe Goolsby shot Smith after he’d learned the victim had made disparaging remarks about a woman with whom Goolsby has two children.
Goolsby fled to Las Vegas following the shooting and was arrested there in late August. He recently was extradited back to Tacoma for his arraignment.
