ORTING: 17-year-old arrested in connection with robbery at KeyBank branch

THE NEWS TRIBUNE
Authorities on Friday arrested a 17-year-old boy suspected of robbing a bank branch in Orting on Wednesday.

Orting police said they believe the teen walked up to a teller at the KeyBank at 105 Calistoga St. E., gave her a note saying he had a weapon and demanded money. The teller gave the bandit an undisclosed amount of cash, and he fled.

The boy, an Orting resident, was arrested in Eatonville after being tracked down by Pierce County sheriff’s deputies, Eatonville police and Orting officers.

He was expected to be booked into the Remann Hall juvenile detention center for investigation of robbery.
