Elementary school principals in the region have selected Victor Falls Elementary Principal Beth Dykman as one of 18 regional distinguished principals for the 2008-09 school year. Dykman has been a principal for 10 years, including four at the grade school in Bonney Lake.
“Under her leadership, Victor Falls has been named a School of Distinction for the past two years. This award recognizes and celebrates outstanding improvement in student academic growth. Schools of Distinction represent the top 5 percent of schools in our state that have shown progress in raising student achievement in both reading and math during a six-year period,” Maple Lawn Elementary Principal Mike McCartin said in a news release.
Dykman holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an emphasis in early-childhood education and a master’s degree in school administration, both from Pacific Lutheran University.
Dykman next goes on for consideration as the state’s distinguished principal.
