Designs created by five student artists were selected as finalists from a field of 110 entries as the Pierce County Library System proceeds with a new library card for its 17 branches. Now the public has a chance to pick the winning design.
The finalist artists are Carlos Aleman of Spanaway, who attends Foss High School; Michelle Barreto of Lakewood, Harrison Preparatory School; Joshua Buck of Tacoma, Spanaway Lake High School; Miranda Raymor of Lakebay, who is home schooled; and Chris Wassom of Bonney Lake, Mountain View Middle School.
Until June 30, Pierce County residents may vote for their favorite design at the Library’s Web site, piercecountylibrary.org.
The winning artwork will be announced later this summer. The teen-designed cards will be available for free, in addition to other designs that the Library offers, during the third-annual card drive this fall.
