Update as of 2:29 p.m.: Tacoma firefighters have extinguished the fire. The ramp to 38th Street is temporarily closed to allow fire crews access to and from the scene.
Initial post: A small grass fire is burning alongside Interstate 5 in Tacoma, but it has not seriously impacted traffic, according to the Fire Department.
Crews were called shortly after 2 p.m. to fight the blaze, which is near the southbound lanes at 38th Street overpass.
The fire is about 100 by 150 feet.
The ramp to 38th Street is partially blocked, the state Department of Transportation said.
