Tacoma, Buckley and Sumner lit their trees Saturday. Here’s a list of upcoming tree-lighting events in Pierce County:
City of Bonney Lake

When: Saturday (Dec. 3), 6 p.m.
Where: Public Safety Building, 18421 Veterans Memorial Drive E.
What: Activities and music, refreshments, candy, photos with Santa Claus and the annual tree-lighting ceremony. Drop food donations off at the Food Bank, adjacent to the Public Safety Building and the community Christmas tree.
City of DuPont
When: Saturday (Dec. 3), 5:30 p.m.
Where: Ross Plaza, 1500 Ross Loop.
What: Performances by choirs from Chloe Clark Elementary and Pioneer Middle schools, children’s activities, hot cocoa, cookies and a visit from Santa. Mayor Michael Courts will hold a toast and reception at the DuPont General Store after the lighting.
City of Eatonville
When: Saturday (Dec. 3) 3-6 p.m.
Where: Visitors Center, 320 Center St. E.
What: Santa will be at the Visitors Center from 3-6 p.m., caroling and the tree lighting.
City of Fife
When: Dec. 6, 6-7 p.m.
Where: Fife City Hall
What: Santa will trade his sleigh for a fire truck to help light the tree outside city hall. Free photos with Santa and cookies and hot cocoa provided.
City of Fircrest
When: Dec. 4, 7 p.m.
Where: Alice Peers Park, 601 San Juan Ave.
What: Refreshments, entertainment and visit with Santa to follow at Community Center, 555 Contra Costa Ave.
City of Gig Harbor
When: Saturday (Dec. 3), 5-8 p.m.
Where: This year’s tree lighting has moved to Donkey Creek Park, 8714 N. Harborview Drive.
What: Live music and refreshments will begin at 5 p.m. Santa will arrive via fire truck at 5:30 p.m. and meet with the kids.
City of Lakewood
When: Dec. 2, 5:30-8 p.m.
Where: In front of Lakewood City Hall, 6000 Main St. W.
What: Photos with Santa, Minute to Win It games and craft projects, dance performance and performances by Clover Park High marching band, Lakes High Studio Choir and Mann Middle School.
City of Milton
When: Saturday (Dec. 3), 3-8 p.m.
Where: City Hall, 1000 Laurel St.
What: Activites for children, food trucks, music and the tree lighting.
City of Puyallup
When: Saturday (Dec. 3), 5 p.m.
Where: Pioneer Park Pavilion, 333 S. Meridian.
What: A holiday market will start at noon followed by a lighted Santa parade at 5 p.m. Santa will arrive on a fire engine and the tree will be lit at the park. Cookies and hot cocoa provided.
Town of Steilacoom
When: Friday (Dec. 2), 6:30 p.m.
Where: Town Hall, 1717 Lafayette Street.
What: Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman, elves and reindeer, led by Rudolph's flashing nose, will descend on Town Hall after the tree lighting. Holiday songs, Christmas stories, cookies and hot chocolate and visits with Santa will follow inside.
City of University Place
When: Friday (Dec. 2), 5-8 p.m.
Where: Market Square, 3609 Market Place W.
What: Santa’s arrival on a firetruck. Little dancers will escort him inside for photos at the Atrium fireplace. Students will perform in Market Square. Tree lighting will be at 6 p.m., Santa photos will continue until 8 p.m. Photos are $5 and benefit the Kiwanis Club of University Place.
