The state Department of Health website was among those targeted this week by hackers posting pro-ISIS messages.
The hacking was discovered Monday morning and fixed that afternoon, according to a department spokesman. State officials are now working with federal investigators on the case.
“It was a pretty broad-based attack. There were roughly 30 sites in eight states that were affected and several private companies,” said Andrew Garber of the state’s Office of CyberSecurity.
CNN reports government websites in Ohio, Maryland and New York were hacked by the same group, which went by the name Team System DZ.
Screenshots of the hacked sites included the message “You will be held accountable Trump, you and all your people for every drop of blood flowing in Muslim countries... I Love Islamic state.”
