A 21-year-old man drowned Saturday evening while swimming with relatives in a lake near Auburn, officials said Monday.
He was identified as Kyle Sacha, from Federal Way, by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Two adults and a young girl went to Fivemile Lake Park and the man and girl decided to try and swim across the lake to a private dock, King County sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. DB Gates said.
“He didn’t quite make it,” she said.

The man slipped beneath the surface but first was able to help the girl safely onto the dock.
Paramedics pulled the man from the water and performed CPR but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was under water for about 35 minutes before being rescued.
He was not wearing a life jacket.
