A Key Peninsula water system that tested positive for E. coli last week now is delivering safe drinking water, according to the state Department of Health.
Officials found E. coli in the water system at the Lake of the Woods Community Club, near state Route 302 and 140th Avenue KP N, on Oct. 17.
The state said the water there tested negative for the bug after the operator chlorinated the system. No source of contamination was found.
The water affected serves 324 homes and about 870 people.
