A committee convened to interview and select the next University of Washington Tacoma chancellor has narrowed its search to five finalists.
The first candidate will be on campus Nov. 12 and will make a public presentation at 4:30 p.m. in Philip Hall. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
The remaining candidates will visit the campus between Nov. 17 and Dec. 12. Candidates will not be named until roughly a week before they arrive.
The school embarked on the search this spring after Chancellor Debra Friedman died in January following treatment for lung cancer. Friedman was hired in 2011.

Kenyon Chan has served as interim chancellor and is leading the chancellor search committee as chairman.
A final decision will likely be announced by January, according to university spokesman Mike Wark.
Whoever is selected for the job will be the fifth chancellor in the history of UWT, which turns 25 next year.
The University of Washington Tacoma has 4,501 students, according to 2014 autumn enrollment data.
