Tests on Thursday showed the Canterwood water system near Gig Harbor is E. coli-free, which means residents there can stop boiling drinking water.
Peninsula Light Co., which manages the system for Canterwood, said samples tested negative for E. coli and coliform bacteria.
The water tested positive for E. coli Friday, and crews have been treating the system with chlorine since.
Residents were advised to throw out any ice in their freezers, and clean the trays. Chlorine in the system could affect fish tanks, the company said.
