A two-alarm fire tore through a Lakewood apartment complex early Wednesday and destroyed six units, three months after another fire there displaced 70 residents.
West Pierce firefighters were called about 2:35 a.m. to Eastwood Apartments in the 5300 block of Chicago Avenue Southwest and found heavy smoke and flames.
The blaze was upgraded to a second alarm, and seven engines, two ladder trucks and two medic units responded.
Within an hour, the fire was under control. A cause has not been determined.

No injuries were reported.
Six units were gutted by the blaze, and another two suffered damage, West Pierce Fire spokeswoman Hallie McCurdy said.
The American Red Cross is assisting seven people who were displaced.
At least two of the damaged apartments remained vacant from a fire that swept through the two-story complex in January and forced a mother to drop her baby to safety.
