Orting Valley Fire and Rescue has revealed its funky side.
Last week, the fire district released a lip sync video set to the tune of the popular song “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson, featuring Bruno Mars.
The video, posted to YouTube May 1, features many of Orting’s firefighters and paramedics, including Fire Chief Zane Gibson wearing a popped collar and stunner shades.
The video pulls out all stops, including a firefighter toting a large speaker on a riding lawnmower, musical instruments and a mock patient jamming with crews in the back of an ambulance.
“It was done for our annual awards banquet,” Gibson said in an email Wednesday. “We wanted a funny skit or something and the video was the result.”
Orting firefighters aren’t the first in Pierce County to show off their lip-dubbing chops.
Tacoma firefighters made it to the semifinals of a lip sync challenge on “Good Morning America” last summer, with their rendition of “Safe and Sound” by Capital Cities.
