A 77-year-old Puyallup woman who parked her pickup truck on train tracks Thursday committed suicide, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office said Friday.
The News Tribune does not identify people who commit suicide.
Police said the woman drove around a barrier about 5 p.m. and stopped on the tracks at East Pioneer and 15th Street Southeast.
A northbound Sounder train headed for Seattle hit the pickup truck and killed the driver.
Trains were backed up for about a half hour before the investigation moved off the tracks.
