Carbonado is without water after construction equipment damaged the water line Wednesday, according to the state Department of Health.
Town employees are working on the line, which may lead to intermittent service, a news release said. The line was broken by a contractor drilling during a geological survey.
The department recommends using boiled or bottled water until further notice because contaminants can enter water systems when they lose pressure.
The department’s health advisory will be in effect until tests show the water is safe to drink, the release said.
The advisory affects 238 homes, a school, a bar and a church, the release said.
Any Carbonado-area residents with questions about their water are asked to call town officials at 360-829-0125.
