Two Waters Arts Alliance of the Key Peninsula will present its inaugural TWAA Art Walk on the KP with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (July 29) at the Blend Wine Shop in Key Center. The walk is a unique opportunity for artists who might normally participate in gallery exhibits to share their work with the public.

Author Scott Perkins wrote his novel, “Howard Carter Saves the World,” as a “push-back against the cynicism” he’d seen in most young adult literature. Released as an e-book in April, “Howard Carter” features classic sci-fi elements such as freeze rays, snarky robots, and a boy genius protagonist clever enough to save the world from an alien invasion.
Peninsula Art League members are raising awareness and funds for the victims of the 2014 Carlton Complex wildfires in eastern Washington. The artists have created artwork inspired by the fires that are currently on display at the Art Gallery at the Tacoma Community College Gig Harbor campus.
Gig Harbor High School football senior football players Adrian Valona, Bailey Weir, Andrew Johnson and Alex Bouterse recently returned from a mission trip in inner city Chicago. The four were part of a church group that went to Chicago to do charity work and community outreach.
