Cheers to the Peninsula Hawks Scholarship Fund for awarding a whopping $298,000 to 177 seniors at Peninsula High School this month. This 31-year-old program reflects great support for higher education from the families, businesses, organizations and PHS alums in our community.

2016 Student of Distinction: Whitney Mundle

Whitney Mundle is not only one of the top scholars at Peninsula High but also one of the top athletes in the state. Described as an optimistic person who has an infectious laugh, Mundle has maintained an excellent GPA while swimming competitively year-round.

2016 Student of Distinction: Praise Jorgenson

Praise Jorgenson has overcome a difficult childhood to begin a successful path that would eventually lead to a college education. Despite a rocky academic start when she was younger, she has worked hard in high school to graduate on time, and is making plans for a career in nursing.
