The annual Fox Island Fair is Saturday (Aug. 8) at the Nichols Community Center.
The fair, which runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature more than 75 vendors and artists, along with games for children, a Raffle Room with prizes donated by community members and local businesses and a flower show hosted by the Fox Island Garden Club. The Fox Island Community and Recreation Association (FICRA) will be selling 2015 Fox Island T-shirts and the Fox Island Historical Society will have a booth with information about the history of Fox Island.
A food court will be set up, along with beer and wine gardens. Several local musicians will be performing throughout the day including Natalie Murphy, Matthew the Animal, Sarah Tweet and Family, Luke Stanton and the Twang Junkies.
Tweet will sing the national anthem at noon, accompanied by a presentation of the colors by the Fox Island Honor Guard. Directly following will be the World’s “Shortest” Parade, featuring the largest kazoo band ever on Fox Island, and led by the fair’s 2015 Grand Marshall(s).
