Musician John Batdorf will perform as part of Olalla’s Mostly Monthly Music Series at 7 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 9) at the Olalla Community Hall.
Batdorf’s show is the January edition of the series, according to producer Nolan Pepperdine.
“A concert with John is a great way to kick off the new year,” Pepperdine said in a release. “He’s had an absolutely amazing musical career and we’re thrilled that he’s making a stop in Olalla.”
Batdorf toured and headlined as part of the Batdorf & Rodney duo through the 1970s, opening for bands such as America, Linda Ronstadt, Fleetwood Mac and Kris Kristofferson.
During the 1980s, Batdorf focused more on songwriting, composing music for CBS shows “Promised Land” and “Touched by and Angel,” and sang background vocals on albums for artists including Rod Stewart, the Motley Crew and Jefferson Starship.
The Batdorf & Rodney duo were inducted into the Las Vegas Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.
The event will begin with a potluck at 6 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m.
“Just bring a dish to share and get to know other music lovers and hang out with John,” Pepperdine said.
This event is presented by the Olalla Community Club and is open to the public, with a suggested donation of $15.
The next show in the series will be Nancy Dillon on Feb. 13.
The Olalla Community Hall is located at 12970 Olalla Valley Road SE.
