Cheers to the Peninsula Education Association for its decision to have a half-day strike. You are impacting families by forcing the Legislature to take notice of their kids, their schools, and their futures. Thank you, teachers and staff who gave up half a day’s pay to teach the rest of us how to be a good role model.
Cheers to the great cartoon in the May 13 Gateway. Tom Brady, of the New England Cheaters, sits on a partially deflated football that is emitting escaping gas. He says: “Oops, Sorry…” How can this get even wider distribution? It deserves it! Thanks for the smiles.
Cheers to the Peninsula School District teachers who do so much for our children every day yet have been denied any cost of living increases for six years despite a law passed by voters. Thank you for being there 179.5 days of the year, and let your voices be heard on May 19!
Jeers to those who take advantage of the elderly that have money and property. Such a sad way to make a living and obtain financial security ... disgraceful!
Cheers to the Peninsula High Drama department and Ms. Kara Beloate for the amazing production of Elton John’s “Aida.” The students both on and off stage did a great job. What talent is in the midst of the Peninsula. Don’t pass up the next opportunity to see a production at Peninsula. You will be amazed!
Cheers to Gig Harbor Audio for their free information on technology classes on Saturday mornings. Great way to get some answers to questions about your computer, smart phone and more.
Cheers to The Joyful Noise choir and director Jean Kopta for a wonderful concert Saturday afternoon. We really enjoyed the results of all your time and effort putting it on. The bagpipe and organ songs were awesome. Look forward to hearing the group again!
