The RAMS are the oldest Radio Aero Modelers club in the state, touting a more than 65-year history as providing a family oriented hobby of flying radio-controlled aircraft. Club members fly their aircraft remotely on the ground, using a hand-held radio transmitter.

Puyallup Foursquare Church to distribute school supplies through outreach program

Thousands of students from school districts all around East Pierce County will benefit at the Puyallup Foursquare Church’s inaugural Foursquare Cares outreach program on Saturday (Aug. 29). Donated backpacks full of school supplies will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., plus additional free services like haircuts, dental and vision screenings, sports physicals and a picnic lunch will also be available.

Back to school resource fair brings hope

In order to help alleviate that financial burden on families, the Sumner Bonney Lake Family Center is continuing its 17-year tradition of hosting a Resource Fair to provide school supplies, backpacks, haircuts, physicals and immunizations to students at no cost. The fair is 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 4 at Calvary Community Church, 15116 Gary Street East in Sumner.
