Arguments, name-calling run rampant in assault case against Thompson, Chaplin

Thurston County Superior Court Judge Gary Tabor said on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, that if Olympia Police officer Ryan Donald does not consent to an interview with defense attorney George Trejo, he will order a deposition. George Trejo represents Bryson Chaplin, who will stand trial with his brother Andre Thompson on Oct. 3, 2016, for the alleged assault of Donald on May 25, 2016. Thompson and Chaplin allegedly attacked Donald with skateboards on May 25, 2015. Donald was apprehending the men after a report that they had tried to steal beer from a west Olympia Safeway earlier that night.
