Federal Way police are investigating a shooting Thursday night in the 32200 block of 46th Place SW.
The shooting happened shortly before 8 p.m. during a family vigil for a man killed late Monday night.
No injuries were reported. Fewer than 10 people were at the vigil at the time.
The vigil was approximately one half mile from where Dennis Sloboda, 32, was fatally shot Monday, said Federal Way police spokesperson Cathy Schrock in a news release. Sloboda was fatally shot while driving to the hospital to see his wife and newborn son, family said.
Upon investigation of the shots-fired call and evidence was collected, police determined that five or six shots were heard and bullets struck a nearby house.
There is nothing to suggest a connection between Thursday's incident and Monday’s homicide, Schrock wrote in the release.
