A man driving a stolen vehicle struck a police motorcycle in Auburn while trying to flee a two-car crash early Wednesday, police said.
Officers were called to the 5500 block of Auburn Way South about 6:30 a.m. for a wreck. Witnesses reported that one of the drivers was passed out behind the wheel of his car.
When police arrived on scene, the man allegedly woke up and sped away, striking an officer’s motorcycle.
A short pursuit went onto state Route 18 before officers were able to stop the vehicle just west of the Auburn-Black Diamond exit.

A 34-year-old man was taken into custody and then transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
No one else was injured.
Police said the stolen car had not yet been reported by the owner.
