Deputies are looking for a man charged with carjacking an acquaintance and kidnapping his girlfriend in Graham last month.
Daniel Ryan White, 23, is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
White is one of two men charged with first-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault and first-degree robbery for the Feb. 27 incident.
Trevor Joseph Walker, 23, has pleaded not guilty to the same charges and is being held on $100,000 bail.
Charging papers give this account:
White and Walker were hanging out inside the victim’s Honda Accord with him and his girlfriend and directing them to a home.
Walker instructed the victim to pull onto a dirt road at 262nd Street East. Then he and White got out of the car and pulled guns on the other two.
They allegedly threatened to kill the victim’s family if he didn’t hand over the keys to the car. Then they drove away, still pointing a gun at the girlfriend as she sat in the backseat.
The victim flagged down deputies in the 26300 block of 86th Avenue East and asked for help.
A tracking system on the car helped Pierce County sheriff’s deputies track the Honda to a store in the 17600 block of Meridian Avenue East in South Hill, where they found Walker and the woman.
White had already fled. Walker was arrested at gunpoint.
Walker told deputies he didn’t know White planned to rob the victims and he “was just trying to play it cool” because he was scared of White, records show.
In exchange for a cigarette, he led deputies to a handgun he’d tossed in some bushes.
Deputies also found on him a key to the stolen Honda and a backpack containing two types of bullets, an unloaded gun magazine and a ballistic vest.
The woman told deputies she’d tried to escape but Walker wouldn’t allow her.
After White forced her boyfriend out of the car and got in the driver’s seat, she “opened the door to get out but Walker slammed the door on her, blocking her escape,” records show.
The men saw several patrol cars in the area so they pulled into the store parking lot. White fled and deputies soon found Walker with the woman.
Walker has a prior conviction for residential burglary.
White is described as a white man, 6-feet-2 and 230 pounds, with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He had a thin mustache at the time of the carjacking.
