People in a car that plunged down a steep 75-foot embankment Saturday near Kent suffered “relatively minor” injuries, Kent Fire spokesman Don Baberle said Sunday.
“That’s kind of amazing,” he said about the injuries not being more extensive.
The driver lost control about 4 p.m. while trying to take Exit 151 as the car headed north on Interstate 5, according to the Kent Fire Department.
The vehicle, which had two occupants, went down the embankment on Military Road South, stopping between two trees at the base of the hill.
Multiple agencies responded, and technical rescue teams set up rope systems to help the pair, who were treated at the scene and taken to hospitals to be evaluated.
Further details about what caused the crash were not immediately available.
