Tacoma police were investigating a possible assault late Friday after a wounded person showed up at the Jack in the Box restaurant downtown.
The extent of the person’s injuries was not known, and no arrests had been made by 10 p.m., Tacoma police officer Naveed Benjamin said.
The investigation began about 9:15 p.m. when reports came in to dispatch of shots fired in the vicinity of South 23rd Street and South Yakima Avenue. Shortly thereafter, someone with a gunshot wound turned up at the restaurant at 2420 Pacific Ave. seeking aid, Benjamin said.
Police dispatched units, including a dog team, to the area to investigate, Benjamin said.
