The felon, Pierce County sheriff’s investigators allege, was driving a car through Spanaway with a handgun under the seat, a pipe bomb in the trunk and ingredients for methamphetamine strewn about.
Cecil Teraje Sablan, 34, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of an incendiary device, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Superior Court Commissioner Meagan Foley ordered him jailed in lieu of $60,000 bail.
A deputy driving next to Sablan on Oct. 9 recognized him from prior arrests. After checking his computer and learning Sablan had a warrant for his arrest, the deputy pulled him over.
A search of Sablan’s car uncovered meth, ingredients to make the drug, a .40-caliber handgun, ammunition and a pipe bomb, according to charging papers.
A bomb squad was called out to handle the pipe bomb.
