Someone broke into Northwest Christian School in Puyallup before dawn Monday and made off with the school’s “entire music department,” a school official said.
The thieves, possibly as many as eight of them, stole instruments (guitars, hand bells, trumpets and flutes), a computer, a TV and a coffee maker, said Chrystal Clemens, who works at the school at 904 Shaw Road.
“We feel very violated,” Clemens said.
Video surveillance shows people carrying items out to a white pickup.
Clemens said it appears the thieves were inside the school from about 1:40 to 3:40 a.m. and possibly longer.
School officials made a report to Puyallup police, who were investigating.
Investigators were still reviewing surveillance footage, and were waiting for a complete list of items taken and their value from the school, police spokesman Scott Engle said.
A man and a woman reportedly asked for gas money at the school the day before, Engle said, and the principal believed they might be two of the people pictured in the burglary footage.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
