Three people were hurt late Sunday after a Milton home burned to the ground, officials said Monday.
The fire was reported about 11:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of 12th Avenue.
Three people were home at the time and two initially escaped, according to East Pierce Fire & Rescue. One of the family members ran back inside the burning home to help a third relative who couldn’t make it out.
The family had to break a window to escape the flames.

All three were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
While battling the blaze, firefighters had to deal with exploding ammunition inside the home and a large propane tank in the backyard.
The house was destroyed. A cause has not been determined.
