A man charged with fatally shooting another man while trying to rob him in a Tacoma motel was extradited Monday to Pierce County to face charges.
Pierce County prosecutors this summer charged Raphael Smith, 32, with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the Aug. 20 shooting of Kevin Young, 41.
Smith, who was arrested last month while hiding out in Portland, is to be arraigned Tuesday (Dec. 9.)
Co-defendants Marcus Boykin, 30, Aron Skaro, 32, and Brandi Rye, 27, have pleaded not guilty to the same charges.

Police said the group conspired to rob Young while he was staying at a Tacoma motel with his girlfriend.
Rye was acquainted with the girlfriend after both women were jailed at the same time and she hung out with the couple in the motel prior to the shooting.
The men demanded money when they burst into the motel room and Young was shot in the stomach during a dispute, according to court records.
