A northbound Amtrak train in Auburn killed a pedestrian Friday night.
The person hit was trespassing on the tracks, according to an Amtrak spokesperson.
Eyewitnesses said he tried to cross, despite the bars being down and others warning him not to.
The train was on the way to Seattle from Los Angeles, and passengers had to wait as the investigation took place with Burlington Northern Santa Fe police and other local authorities.
