Pierce County prosecutors charged a 35-year-old man Friday with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Tacoma resident Larnell Griffin.
A warrant has issued for the arrest of David Wayne Turner Jr., who should be considered armed and dangerous, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.
Griffin, 33, was shot in the chest April 15 in an apartment near South Lawrence and South 40th streets. Investigators believe he got into a dispute over some cell phones with another man, Thomas Potts, and that Potts shot him.
Potts, 35, was arrested Tuesday night. He’s pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and is being held in jail in lieu of $2 million bail.
Detectives suspect Turner might have driven Potts to and from the scene of the slaying and might have accompanied him into the apartment, court records show.
Turner is white, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair, although he often shaves his head. He also wears glasses.
