A 26-year-old woman who died Sunday after the stolen pickup truck she was riding in crashed during a police chase has been identified as Marissa Richie.
Two men in the truck were listed in critical condition after the crash, which occurred about 1:40 a.m. near 64th Street and Waller Road East.
The wreck happened after Tacoma police officers recognized the truck from a Lakewood carjacking and started following it. The driver fled with the pickup’s lights off.
The driver lost control, and the truck hit a utility pole, knocking out power to about 30 homes in the area.

The pickup, a 2004 GMC truck, was taken from a 62-year-old man outside his Lakewood apartment. The owner told police he came home and found two men and a woman in his parking spot, so he asked them to move.
The group allegedly punched and kicked the man in the head before stealing the truck, leaving behind another vehicle.
The man was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries.
