The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.
Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.
All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.
Bradley R. Vanwoert
Description: 5 feet 10 and 185 pounds, brown hair and blue eyes.
Where registered to live: 9600 block of Veterans Drive SW, Lakewood.
Criminal history: Convicted in 1996 of second-degree rape for sexually assaulting a woman in his camper. Convicted in 2003 of second-degree burglary with sexual motivation and indecent exposure for exposing himself and masturbating in front of a housekeeper in a hotel.
Prior record: Has prior convictions for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, assault, criminal trespassing, violating a no-contact order, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, malicious mischief and disorderly conduct.

Description: 6 feet and 245 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Where registered to live: 2500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Tacoma.
Criminal history: Convicted in 1988 of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 in Sacramento County, California, for sexually assaulting three young girls. Convicted in 1991 of the same charge for molesting a 9-year-old girl. Convicted in 2011 in Thurston County of communication with a minor for immoral purposes for interactions with a 7-year-old girl.
Sex offender treatment: Participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Paul T. Makosky
Description: 5 feet 9 and 180 pounds, bald with blue eyes.
Where registered to live: 600 block of 108th Street South, Tacoma.
Criminal history: Convicted in 1994 of fourth-degree criminal sexual misconduct in Escanaba, Michigan, and in 1996 of indecent exposure. Convicted in 2009 in King County of attempted voyeurism in King County. Has convictions for failing to register as a sex offender in Pierce County.
Sex offender treatment: Unknown whether he participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.
