Tacoma police are trying to identify a robber who tore half a $20 bill from the hand of a convenience store customer and assaulted the man May 23.
The customer was taking money out of his wallet about 1:40 a.m. at the AmPm store in the 3600 block of Center Street when he dropped several $20 bills.
Another man grabbed at the money, pushed the customer and climbed on top of him while trying to take the bills, according to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers.
The robber made off with the partial $20 and fled in a black sedan, police said.

He’s described as black, about 30, 5 feet 6, and 190 pounds. He was wearing a purple baseball cap, a long-sleeve blue shirt and tan pants.
