A Graham motorcyclist was killed Friday in a collision on state Route 16 near Port Orchard.
A rollover crash on the highway west of the Burley Olalla Road on-ramp about 6 a.m. prompted several drivers, impatient after waiting in the ensuing backup, to make U-turns off the freeway and drive the wrong way up the on-ramp, according to the Washington State Patrol.
A car driven by a 39-year-old Gig Harbor man did that, troopers said. Two motorcyclists riding illegally on the shoulder to pass vehicles did not see the car and one rode into it, troopers said.
One of the motorcyclists, William Bracking, 33, of Graham, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcyclist was not hurt.
Troopers did not arrest the Gig Harbor man but said they would forward the case to prosecutors and recommend he be charged with vehicular homicide.
