Federal Way police are looking for a 50-year-old man who allegedly shot his son in the leg late Wednesday and prompted a SWAT call-out.
The son, who is in his 20s, flagged down an officer just before midnight and asked for help. He told the officer his father shot him at their home in the 2500 block of South 288th Street.
The son was taken to the hospital. His injury is not life-threatening.
Police believed the father was barricaded in the home with a shotgun so they called in the SWAT team, which arrived about 2 a.m.
When SWAT entered the home about 4 a.m., they detained three people but none were the father, police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said.
He is still being sought.
It’s unknown what prompted the shooting.
