A group accused of breaking two windows at a Tacoma elementary school said “they did not intend to break into the school, they were just being dumb and drunk,” according to court records.
Police were called about 2:50 a.m. Thursday to Point Defiance Elementary School at 4330 N. Visscher St. after a campus alarm went off.
The first officer on scene spotted several people running across the grass and eventually took four into custody.
Three men and one woman have been charged with second-degree malicious mischief.
One person threw a rock through a double-paned window and another removed a 50-pound grate from a nearby drain and heaved it through a second window, according to charging papers.
The damage is estimated at about $750.
