A 16-year-old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting Friday night, then ran to Tacoma General Hospital for treatment.
The shooting occurred at 10:40 p.m. on South L Street near People’s Park. When a passing car began to slow, pedestrians in the area began to disperse, said Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool, but someone in the car shot the 16-year-old.
The teen is expected to survive.
No arrests were made.

Later that evening, shots were fired from a vehicle at South 47th and South Oakes streets at approximately 1 a.m. Police later stopped a vehicle, and a man and woman were arrested.
The two shootings aren’t believed to be related.
