A 10-year-old girl was walking alone on a trail in DuPont on Aug. 18 when a man grabbed her from behind and started to run.
The girl fought the man and escaped after biting his arm.
The attempted kidnapping took place about 4:25 p.m. on the trail in the 1200 block of Burnside Place.
On Thursday, police released a sketch of the man in the hope someone might help them identify the would-be kidnapper.
He is described as in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 11 with a slim build. He had brown, spiky hair, possible facial hair on his chin and green or blue eyes.
He was wearing a plain black T-shirt and jeans. Police said he might have a visible bite mark on his arm.
Anyone with information is asked to call detective. Mike Cummings at 253-964-4275.
