Members of the military looking to move into civilian life can get leads on available services and employment opportunities at an event this week at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
The third Washington State Service Member for Life Military Transition Summit will run Wednesday (Oct. 12), Thursday and Friday.
Wednesday’s agenda includes job-seeker registration and presentations by government officials and support organizations, with presentations and information available at the JBLM American Lake Conference Center.
Thursday’s agenda includes industry-sector workshops at four locations on JBLM.
Friday is a job fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hangars 9 and 10 at McChord Field. More than 200 employers have signed up to be at the event.
Interested active-duty, National Guard and reserve service members can register for the three-day event at the door Wednesday and Thursday, beginning at 8 a.m.
Last year, nearly 3,000 service members, veterans and military family members attended the event, and 300 job openings were filled on-site.
