Pacific Lutheran University announced Wednesday that it will hold a memorial service for students Jocelyn Denham and Brady Freeman at 11 a.m. May 11 in Lagerquist Concert Hall in the Mary Baker Russell Music Building on campus. The students died last weekend in a car accident.
Both families will be present for the service, which will be preceded by a reception at 10 a.m. in the lobby of the Music Building. There, members of the PLU community may greet the families. The service will follow.
A service for Freeman, a junior offensive lineman on the football team, was held in his hometown of Tonasket on Thursday, while a service for Denham will be held next week in her hometown of Bend, Ore.
Freeman was driving last Friday afternoon with two passengers – Denham, who was his girlfriend, and his twin brother, Boone Freeman, a junior offensive lineman at the University of Puget Sound – near Brewster, Okanagon County, when his car collided with another vehicle.
Brady Freeman and Denham, both 21, were pronounced dead at the scene. Boone Freeman was hospitalized overnight with injuries before being released Saturday. He went to his parents’ house in nearby Tonasket.
