The City of Edgewood has identified six finalists in its search for a city manager, all of whom have experience running the ins and outs of a municipal government.
They are:
• Kenneth Carter, a former city administrator in Prosser, Benton County, and a recent interim city administrator in Milton.
• Craig Dawson, who served seven years as city manager in Shorewood, Minn.
• Bill Elliott, former city manager of Sequim, Clallam County.
• Robert Griego, city manager of Irwindale, Calif.
• Paul Loveless, Steilacoom town administrator.
• R. Kim Wilde, city manager of Waunkaee, Wis., who also served as the city administrator in Snoqualmie, King County, for 11 years.
The Edgewood City Council will interview the candidates July 1. The candidates will also appear before city staff and a panel of community members.
Edgewood officials hired a search firm to help them fill the position after City Manager Henry Lawrence left in January. The company, Seattle-based Prothman, was paid $18,000 to gather applicants.
City officials said they hope to hire for the position before the end of July, but the process could take longer if they decide to do a second round of interviews.
