FEDERAL WAY: DNA found on hat leads to arrest of suspected car thief
THE NEWS TRIBUNE
Published: July 24th, 2008 01:00 AM
The Washington State Patrol on Wednesday arrested a man suspected of pointing a rifle at a trooper during pursuit in Federal Way last month.

The two suspected car thieves got away that day, but DNA evidence on the hats they left behind helped investigators figure out who they were, spokesman Cliff Pratt said Wednesday.

Charges are expected to be filed against the 20-year-old gunman today, he said. The News Tribune does not generally name suspects before they are charged.

The other suspect, 17, is still being sought.
