A 47-year-old man is in the hospital after he was shot by two masked intruders who stormed into his home late Friday near Federal Way.
The shooting occurred shortly before 11 p.m., in the 4900 block of South 284th Place, east of the city, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim shared a house with his parents, both of whom are in their 70s. They were not injured.
Authorities say the two suspects entered the house through the front door, which was open because of the warm weather. They went to a back bedroom where the victim was and shot him.
The two intruders carried handguns, police say.
Investigators didn’t have a possible motive, although detectives do not believe this was a random shooting.
The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, where he remained as of Saturday.
