The state has stopped admissions to a privately operated adult family home in Lakewood after finding violations it says jeopardized the safety of residents.
Montevista Adult Homecare, a six-bed facility at 6522 Ardmore Drive S.W., specializes in mental health and dementia and is licensed to Cristina Soson.
The state Department of Social and Health Services said the home failed to use proper infection-control measures and did not ensure a comprehensive assessment was completed for a resident, who might not have received necessary care and services.
Also, the state said, the home failed to ensure that a system was in place to appropriately administer medications, failed to ensure the proper use of side rails on beds and did not run fire drills every two months as required.
A News Tribune call to Montevista for comment went unanswered Wednesday.
